In 1985, the Jim Henson-produced "Muppet Babies" spin-off was big on the Saturday morning cartoon scene, so CBS wanted to expand the franchise further. "Muppet Babies" was to be paired with "Little Muppet Monsters," a live-action show much more in line with the "Muppet Show" set-up, with the show depicting the running of the show itself, and with the original Muppets in cameo roles. Animated segments were also added, provided by Marvel Productions.
The show lasted all of three episodes before the "Muppets, Babies and Monsters" combo promised on CBS's Saturday morning promotional materials faded into oblivion. While the series has never released to home video (twelve episodes were left unaired), here are ten minutes from the unaired episode nine, which lacks certain Muppet celebrity cameos and the animated segments.
